Observation details
I heard the distinctive wing trill as soon as I walked up to the pepper tree. White chin and pale whitish line from bill, through eye and between green cap and gorget. Pale greenish flanks and white breast. The bird made a few brief forays into the sun but favored the shade. He would occasionally fly away towards the house with the feeder nearby but return to the pepper tree within 2-3 minutes.
