Observation details
This bird was found by Ryan Winkleman this morning and I joined him to get documentation of the first county record. It favored sitting in a pepper tree at the entrance to the park just off Vista del Lago (GPS: 33.639910, -117.660078) It's wing trill noise is very easy to track down and unmistakable compared to other hummer species we have in the area. The tail projected just past the wingtips. It had a ruby/pink-colored gorget and a green head and back. Great find by Ryan. Link to video on Flickr:
