Media notes
"Whit" calls.
Observation details
28.0629, -81.8799. Heard only. I'm not sure Willow Flycatcher can be conclusively eliminated from the attached recordings, but Least seems to be a better match, based on the spectrograms I've been looking at from Xeno-Canto. (Smoothly rising call, instead of somewhat bimodal with two peaks. Less frequency overlap between the introductory note and the 2nd note.) Habitat (mature 2nd-growth forest) is also a better fit for Least, though I'm not sure how much that matters during migration. In the field it really sounded like there were "whit" calls coming from two birds, but I'll be conservative and only report one since I didn't see them.
