Media notes

three cuts from a pair of birds on a gravel beach adjacent to a frozen bay on the lee side of the point. The first cut is of calls that were given seemingly in alarm at our approach; before they started vocalizing both birds were sitting down on the gravel, but when we walked towards them they stood up and gave these calls. The next cut is wing noise and calls in flight after they flushed, and the third cut is wing noise after they flushed again. They were extremely skittish, as all this was happening at a distance of at least 200m.

Observation details

pair on the gravel beach on the east side of the point. Very wary, and did not allow close approach while perched, but flew right by us upon flushing. Recorded (on xeno-canto, will upload here soon).
