Observation details
medium white egret with yellow bill, pale fleshy-yellow legs and feet (not as dark as the recent Penobscot bird), yellow-green lore. Only a faint blush of orange breeding colors, mostly on the crown with very little apparent on the back or chest (again, duller than the Penobscot bird). Mostly foraging on earthworms in the flooded field but also flew into the pasture across the road, joining cows "in appropriate habitat." An interesting interaction was how quickly one of the cows went over to investigate the egret, causing it to walk just outside of their pen. A few other cows joined to watch it for a few minutes as it just stood between the trailers; funny to see how captivated the cows were by it...
