Observation details
I am somewhat familiar with this species from prior observation. It was still in a transitional immature plumage, the white line bordering the gular pouch was obvious, if not as defined as an adult's. The birds steeper forehead, and shorter, pale yellow bill stood out. Perhaps most obvious, even from a distance, was how much smaller it was compared to the Double-crested Cormorants it was in close proximity to. Photos.
