Observation details
Accepted by the MBRC as the third state record of this accidental species. Nonbreeding Curlew Sandpiper: -Overall size slightly smaller than nearby Pectoral Sandpipers; -Bird seems "tall" with significant tibia exposed; -Body shape "slender and elegant"; -Decurved bill tapers smoothly to a fine point; -Breast pale; -Back pale gray; -Head gray with distinct supercilium; -Rump is white (not confirmed in the field, but in the one flight photo I discovered following the observation); -White wing stripe; -Primaries project past the tail; -Feet trail past the tail in flight.
