Observation details
***MEGA. More details in previous checklists. I am now leaning towards Gray-breasted Martin, based in large part on the fact that this bird has appeared smaller and shorter winged than Purple Martins tend to appear to me, and the plumage seems to fit one or more populations of Gray-breasted. Caribbean/Cuban/Sinaloan Martin perhaps still on the table though. More research and consultation needed. Was putting on a great show being absurdly cooperative at the SW corner of the lake when I arrived, and continued to do so for the next hour. Then it relocated over to between the Peninsula, Duck Island and LeFrak, and put on a nice show there in good light, as the sun actually hit the lake for a change. Last seen at 17:30, heading east towards LeFrak. Nobody was checking Lullwater or Boathouse, so perhaps it found a bunch of insects in one of those places. Good photos and reasonable video.
