Observation details
First seen earlier today by David Mandell, who had Shawneen Finnegan put the rare bird alert on OBOL. The bird was in the far back of the pond, as far south as it could get and still be in the water. About half of the time I was there, the bird would walk behind a grassy hummock where it was not visible. If you don't see it when you get there, wait a bit and watch the far back of the pond. I would recommend a scope and tripod for this one. All my photos were taken at 200x digital. Sorry for the poor quality. The photo with the GREG behind gives a good comparison for size.
