Observation details
This pair has a male duck (presumed from clean bill and bill of its apparent mate) that has a lighter cap but the same well-defined white in the speculum and streaked face from the MEDU reported in this same checklist. It was mated with a some sort of Mallard cross complete with curled tail feathers. It would appear that a lot of MEDU parentage is evident in this bird given the speculum, streaked face and dark tail. This pair was in the SW corner of the pond.
