Observation details
Continuing... today got views and photos of the wing panels and tail in flight. Female of the pair is significantly smaller than male. The color of the female wing panel is more "teal or turquoise" tinged blue, arguing for Mexican. Wing panels have extremely thin white rim, consistent with Mottled. The bill is mostly plain dull orange and lacks spot at the base. The face is mostly a little darker than the male, and has segmented pattern, with the top 3/4 being striated and the bottom being plain buff, suggesting a Mexican x Mottled Mix.
