Observation details
***MEGA; several seen well flying over at around km 2. At least four or five were close enough to be confidently identified as this species, but there were more distant birds over the ridge that may have also been White-fronted. First considered Black Swift, but smaller with more rapid wingbeats (not quite fluttery, and obviously unlike Vaux's, maybe best described as fast-snappy?), larger-headed, proportionally shorter and less sickle-shaped wings, and bluntly squared tail. Reminiscent of Spot-fronted Swift in flight style and shape. In photos, blazing white front and chin were obvious, and a white patch behind the eye.
