Observation details
Continuing. Came in about 1:30 p.m. and perched in tree branch above the low-flow ditch for almost half an hour before dropping down to the water to drink. Heard before they were seen. Resting, with eyes closed, much of the time they were perched in the tree, but also calling. Conical bills, overall gray, yellow on wings, and yellow spot on upper breast. One had a white patch on it's head, toward the back of it's crown. Photos.
