Observation details
First reported by Mark Otnes. Large Calidris that appeared at least twice as large as surrounding Least Sandpipers. Yellow legs, long sturdy and generally straight bill colored dark brown and darkening to near black toward the tip. Orange base to the lower mandible. Small rusty cheek spit, brown cap. Chest white with thin dark vertical streaks ending abruptly into white belly. White up into throat and wrapping under the cheek spit. Back brown with streaking. Flight feathers and coverts with bold white edges. Media incoming.
