Observation details
Previously reported bird at Overholser. After two hours of circling the lake looking for it, I identified this very large gull as it took off from the east side of the lake on the peninsula just south of the police station/grill area. It headed west to the middle of the lake and harassed a herring gull and appeared to steal a fish from it. I then lost it as it flew further west and I could not relocate it on the west side. It was a massive gull (nearly the size of nearby cormorants) with a large solid black bill, a white head and body and moderately dark upper and lower wings. Was able to get one photo as it flew off to the west
