Media notes
The high-pitched notes are those of a male and a female Short-billed Honeycreeper. They are in a treetop in the stunted forest on our way back from the lagoon, at 10:55am. Background includes: Green-tailed Jacamar, Forest Elaenia, and a bit of Ochre-bellied Flycatcher. Digitized from tape, recorded with a Sony TCM5000, using a Sennheiser ME66 shotgun mic with foam windscreen and a K6 power module from Saul Mineroff Electronics.
Observation details
We had nice studies of a pair that came in atop a tree with Purple Honeycreepers. Very short, almost straight bill; the female also has red legs. A lifer for the Grebe!
