Observation details
*RARE* Two very stunning shorebirds. Both birds observed loosely associating with Black-necked Stilts and Greater Yellowlegs. The Lapwings were larger than the Yellowlegs and smaller than the Stilts. It's appearance was very distinctive. Bicolored black and red bill, black face and throat bordered by white, red eyes, short dark crest, brown head,neck and upperparts, bold black patch extending from lower neck to upper breast white underparts, bronze colored shoulders, long pinkish legs. In flight the black and white wing parttern was very distinctive. Continuing bird. Photographed.
