Observation details
This bird was near the Lesser Scaup flock and appeared slightly larger with a rounded head, larger bill with extensive black tip and pale “ear” patch. When I looked at my photos, I was bothered by the slightly peaked look at the back of the head. I decided it was just some messed-up feathers and not actually the real shape of the head. The sighting was questioned, so I moved it here.
