Media notes
While this call was not made in response to playback, I’m marking playback as having been “used” because it was briefly used within the hour prior to this recording being made
Observation details
Continuing. While walking along the east side of the ponds, I flushed a medium-sized bird which, in flight, looked good for a thrasher. The bird landed ahead of me in a shrub and was extremely skulky, never offering any identifiable views despite being somewhat close. *Brief* use of playback of Crissal Thrasher song resulted in the bird partially teeing up for a few seconds before flying off. Field marks noted during this view were light gray overall color, light colored iris and brick red undertail coverts. (The bird popped up spontaneously during a later pass through this area and called a few times, allowing me to also obtain an audio recording.) Photos and audio.
