Observation details
first winter bird; I first spotted this bird by seeing its very very round head and its very small size and small bill. The bird was similar in size to Ring-billed, maybe even smaller. Bill was bicolored with black tip. The bill was thicker but shorter and smaller than Ring-billed, and with the black tip, from a distance, it looks even smaller billed. Mantle was a very pale gray and unmarked - paler than Ring-billed or typical Thayer's; median and greater coverts were also very pale; primaries were almost all white; tail was white with hint of very pale brown wash on tip; legs pink and proportionately short; dark eye; overall, primaries, tertials and median/greater coverts were all very pale, showing no contrast between them; in flight was consistently pale; primaries in flight were white. have photos.
