Observation details
*rare but irruptive during especially good CORE winters such as this. Continuing Acanthis with overall frosty appearance; pale tan facial color; very restrictive streaking with only one streak on the UT coverts; very small bill. Photographed and audio recorded. One HORE was present when the main flock of CORE was not; calling from atop a tall tree (photos, audio). There was also a HORE seen/photographed within the flock of CORE, on the feeding platform, which may have been a second bird, but I never saw them at the same time. The redpoll flock constantly was flushed by snowmobilers and kept wheeling up into the sky before slowly returning to the feeders.
