Media notes
Hooded Oriole juvenile, this lighting clearly shows the "dusky" appearance of some females and some juveniles--black color mixed in with their golden color. In this image the dusky color is where the male black coloring is seen later in its maturity--so I'm not certain of its sex.
Observation details
Evidence of nest/brood parasitism: an adult Hooded Oriole male feeds suet cake to a fledgling Brown-headed Cowbird--just the way they feed their own fledglings; female Hooded Oriole was also attempting to feed it and flies off with the food.
