Media notes
This bird was seen in an adjacent field, separately from, and about 20-30 minutes after, the two birds shown in the other photos. In the field, I (Seth) noted that it appeared to be in even brighter plumage than the other two. I am reasonably confident that it is a different bird.
Observation details
Close views with photos. Boldly marked. Black auriculars form bracket behind eye. Boldly streaked flanks. Much longer primary projection than other longspurs. Mary, Bob and I first spotted two LALOs feeding together (see photos). Those birds flew off. After perhaps 20 minutes, another birder spotted a single LALO in a field adjacent to where the original two birds were. I photographed this bird also (see photo and notes). In the field I noticed the bird appeared to be in even brighter plumage than the other two. The photos appear consistent with this observation. I am reasonably confident that this is a third bird.
