Observation details
We initially saw it in the woods. An hour later, as I was watching the intense bird activity at the feeders, that were full, the hawk (I assume it was the same) swooped in from behind me, flying low and landing at the base of a bush. It was sudden and super fast, the hawk must have been perched on one of the tall trees surrounding the playground. For a second I thought that it was another Blue Jays (there were a few pecking seeds on the ground), it was roughly the same size. The hawk flew up again almost instantaneously, showing impressive acrobatic skills, and disappeared across the road, in direction of the boardwalk. I didn't have the impression that it took any bird (there was no shrieking and no blood on the snow), but if it did, it was one of the titmice and chickadees hopping around in that spot. It took a moment for the numerous birds around the feeders to see the danger and react. By the time they scattered vocalizing in alarm, the hawk was gone. After a short while, they went back to eat.
