Observation details
Flew through quickly. Didn't realize at the time that it was rare, but got several photos. Long, thin, slightly decurved orange bill, pale yellow towards the tip. White forehead with black speckling on crown, otherwise black cap that extended forward over eyes. Wings were white below, mottled gray above, with dark tips to primaries and dark outermost primary. Deeply forked tail with some dark edging. Black legs just barely show in one of the photos. Gray mottling and dark primaries on upper wings and edging on tail indicate it was likely a first winter bird.
