Atypical Orchard Oriole-like song interspersed with chatter given twice at beginning then later in recording- first beginning at :02, then :08, followed shortly after by a distant bird with typical song at :12. More songs also given by same/ first male toward end. Background species are Downy Woodpecker, Carolina wren, Warbling Vireo, Mourning Dove, Brown-headed Cowbird, Common Grackle, Eastern Kingbird, American Robin, Northern Mockingbird, Purple Martin, probably others.
Observation details
Including 13 males, then scattered females and fledglings. The Common Grackle hordes were up to their usual plundering attempts, with squealing male BAOR in hot pursuit of fleeing COGR noted on several occasions. Below are cuts of typical song, fairly young fledgling calls, then an atypical Orchard Oriole-like song with rattles interspersed within song given by a fully adult male.
