Observation details
Re-found around 5:15 pm near same location as previously found earlier this afternoon, furthest pool of water to the south, viewed from East Road, south of new house along east Road (construction following fire earlier this year). Bird was originally sighted by scope (after ~ 12+ scans), sleeping along the grassy shoreline, eventually stirred and moved around for better looks. This bird can be very hard to see , often being obscured from view by the scantest vegetation. MOB had scope views, bird still there when I left around 6 pm. First impression is of a small teal like duck with light gray sides and tail, breast as seen when facing straight on is dark brown as is head, with broad white stripe over eye extending to back of head. ph
