Observation details
**Continuing rarity first found on the Southern Nassau CBC by Shai Mitra and Pat Lindsay on January 2. Female, apparently of the arcticus subspecies. Relatively pale gray head (except for brown crown), without much contrast between head and back. Pale brown and off-white streaks on back, big white terminal spots on wing coverts, giving a wing-barred appearance, and no white on the base of the primaries. The bird was in the scrub NE of the bend in the central path. Though it was mostly elusive, it was best seen along the unofficial foot path that runs north from that bend. Vocalized with its mewing call a few times, and was likely the source of a few short, high-pitched, low volume, metallic calls as well. Ph/au/vi.
