Observation details
Brian Leishman and I were at the marsh, as a thunderstorm was passing by and it was spitting rain and quite dark. That was when we noticed the characteristic ticking sound of the rail, and managed to get a faint sound recording, despite wind and traffic. The recording has been amplified slightly, and a high pass filter added to remove unwanted noise. The most obvious calls occur just as a vehicle passes by.
