Observation details
The stilt's tall, bright red legs and contrasting black and white coloring made identifying the bird apparent. It was too slim and tall to be a plover. It didn't have the proper coloration for an avocet or phalarope. I got as close as ~50 feet and watched the bird for 40 minutes. There was no mistaking its field markings. Photos of a rating of 5-6 are attached.
