Observation details
Looking for the A.W. Pelicans seen earlier in the day by JDDJ Johnston who saw them from the other side of the river at Maloney Park. I drove to a vacant lot on Bent River Blvd. in Harrison Keep Subdivision and looked out with my binoculars. I saw nothing except a white Jeep in the parking lot across the river at Maloney Park. As I drove off I remembered that Shane Williams drives a white Jeep. I called him, and he was in fact in the parking lot across the river. I asked if he had seen the AWP and he said he saw me drive down the road in my car and that the AWP were right where I had stopped to look for the AWP. I looped around to the vacant lot and there they were, all 205 of them, only 50 feet off shore in a tight pod, feeding and floating down river with the current at the down river edge of the vacant lot. What fun. See Photos.
