Media notes
Two unseen males countering. Area somewhat open, grassy/ brushy with fairly closely spaced small trees. Background species- Carolina Wren, Yellow-breasted Chat, Northern Cardinal, Eastern Towhee, Common Grackle, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Indigo Bunting, Blue Grosbeak, Cliff Swallow.
Observation details
All counted on basis of males/ song. Often 2 audible at a single location (as in recording) in areas of newer succession immediately surrounding moist soil units. Formerly more common than INBU near barn pond, then most areas along levee- but those areas now growing thicker/ taller and more suitable to Indigo Bunting.
