Observation details
****County MEGA**** Only third record from eBird. Large brown bird, with massive beak, a pale stomach and dark wings and backside. Very long, wide wings. Found earlier this morning by Gerard Savaresse. Many thanks to him. The bird soon flew off only to be refound by me at MacEachron (so awesome to see)! The bird flew in from the south and made a few circles before flying about hundred feet north and then landing on the river. It then floated north where it was harassed by a Bald Eagle and then it took high to the sky. It was then further harassed by a gull slightly south of the Tappan Zee. From there it flew out of sight. One of the coolest bird and birding experiences I’ve had in NYS. Photos to come.
