Media notes
Lots of non-specific "white noise" making it hard to hear the two GHOW at 1 sec, 20 sec, and 40 sec. I could not get closer without disturbing them, and they were facing away from me. Recorded at 17:11
Observation details
Hooting at 17:03 in the pine trees of the Great Blue Heron (GBHE) heronry, south of the trail, between bridges 204 and 203. The bird in the photo was one of the owls hooting. Second GH Owl answered. It is possible (likely?) that the GHOW pair intend to use a GBHE nest from last year's nesting season, since they don't build their own nest. The GBHE are not pleased.
