Observation details
Juvenile - dark, slightly down curved bill, with slight droop at end, reddish fringed scapulars, primaries and wing coverts with buff/white fringing, pronounced white eye brow, flaring slightly at rear, reddish tinge to ear coverts and lores, dark brown cap with rufous tinge, throat and chest and upper belly with light brown wash/indistinct streaking, some extending to upper flanks, rest of belly and under tail white, legs yellow with faint green in some light, no wing stripe in flight, white rump, single call note given in flight "quirp", smaller than Lesser Yellowlegs with which it was associating, submerging head while feeding and back of body held well above horizontal position, feeding actively, often with dowitcher-like sewing machine motion, photographed.
