Observation details
with Eric Michael - copying his description " pale mantled gull with larger bill and Kumlien's like primary panel-very slaty panel with large white apicals. Mantle was pale like a Glaucous Gull and head also more squared and GLGU-like. In photos apicals seem to be connected by thin white line running down center of upperwing primaries. On the ice on arrival and lighter primaries seen first from the east side. I moved to the south side to get a little closer, but apicals were blocked by a gull, with only the pale mantle seen. The bird got up and preened some then laid down next to an ICGU. Then later moved again."
