Observation details
Remarkable, have never seen even close to this many House Finches in Marquette. 16 in backyard of 438 Michigan St at once while 3 more flew over and while I could see 5 at feeders at the corner of Michigan and 6th. One was piebald - had normal pigment in some secondaries, scaps, and most of the head/neck, with pale pink on rump. Streaky plain-faced finches with conical bills. Females plain brown and males dull pinkish red. Less boldly patterned than Purple Finches and males not raspberry-red.
