Observation details
I had 1-2 calling flyovers (typical jip, jip call) at the parking lot at dawn, but didn't see them. Then I had 2 calling males flying east a little way down the beach about an hour later - large red finches, bigger than house finch, with clearly notched tails. Then 4 green birds feeding in the east-most major stand of pines (excluding those at the very far end on the beach). One, not very good photo, clearly shows crossed bill tips. I didn't get a recording, but they sounded like what I've been hearing all fall, and most of the birds in this irruption seem to be type 10, so it's likely that that's what these were.
