Media notes
distress and alarm calls made primarily by a single fully-fledged immature (still with enlarged gapeline); the calls are made in response to being attacked by an immature Blue-faced Honeyeater; in tangled branches the honeyeater manoeuvred itself directly underneath the drongo and then plucked first at the drongo's tail, which elicited cries of complaint from the drongo (beginning 0:09), then the honeyeater made a jab with its beak at the drongo's vent, which made the drongo cry out vociferously (beginning 0:145); the honeyeater kept up its harassment for a good 2 minutes; eventually the honeyeater left to chase a passing Australian Magpie; the adult drongo was nearby, hawking insects and did not come to the aid of its offsping
Observation details
a single adult; then further along an adult feeding a begging immature; then further along three fully-fledged immatures, with enlarged gapelines, and a single adult (presumably a parent of the three)
