Observation details
Along the Piers Lane spur trail, near here: (37.41066, -122.18315). In the same area where I have seen them along the trail before, just downhill of the few small trees at the lookout point where the trail makes a right-angle bend on its way down from the Dish. They weren't there initially, but right after I walked by this spot, I heard some suspicious calls behind me, then turned around in time to see a few suspicious-looking birds land in this area, so I doubled back and got good views of them foraging next to the trail. When a few more people walked by, they flew off and landed only about 100 feet uphill from the trail, but they were silent and almost invisible among the grass. I assume they are usually here, but one has to be lucky enough to catch them when they are next to the trail.
