Observation details
Continuing bird, being reported for the last week or so. My first of this species in the state. I found this bird (not until about 20 minutes after I arrives) about halfway between the little pond with the "W" sign and the red barn up the hill that it was reported behind. It was near the road in a thicket. It flew towards the house and feeders behind the pond. It then flew back towards me, landing in the brambles just behind my parked car, at the "W" sign. I got real good photos but a passing box truck spooked it. It disappeared for a while but was seen again making roughly the same circuit about an hour later. I have a feeling this bird spends more time hunting songbirds in the thickets than the treetops, so persistence will pay off.
