Observation details
Continuing here since yesterday, thanks to Susan Braun for letting people watch her yard and for Eric Zawatski in noticing what this bird really was from photos. Spotted by Roana Fuller at 0924 perched up in oak treetop above the yard, bird spent a few minutes in various treetops around the yard before flying off out of sight. Seen picking at oak buds and never came down to the feeders with AMGO and HOFI it was loosely associated with. Even from a distance, the pale "frosty" appearance of this bird was striking, as was the unmarked undertail coverts and pure white rump. Made me feel confident that a "pure HORE" would jump out in a flock of redpolls. Congrats also goes to Joe Verica, as this was his 250th species in Centre county this year. Horrid photo shows a pale bird with a forked tail, black mask, and yellow bill.
