Continuing. Photos. Thanks, Matt! First heard 8am. Day #9 (at least) for this bird. While both red-named and yellow-bellied juveniles look similar, one easy distinguishing factor is the molt and time of year. Sibley notes that YBSA retain juvenile plumage through the spring, while RNSA molts into adult plumage beginning in October.
