Media notes
R. l. waynei. BNA: This recording combines the Primary Advertising Call of a male (the monotonous, "kek" notes speeding up and slowing down in the background throughout) with two "Clapper" Calls given by a second, and seemingly closer, individual at 0:12-0:16 and 0:41-0:44. Based on BNA, the range of R. l. waynei extends north only to SE North Carolina, so this should clearly represent R. l. crepitans. See also Figures 1 and 2 of Massey and Zembal (1987. Vocalizations of the Light-footed Clapper Rail. J. Field Ornithol. 58:32-40). (CAM - 6 April 2005).
