Observation details
I checked based off a report of 3 a few days previously. Flock of 12 seen in the morning about halfway down the trail, almost even with the yellow house, on the south side of the trail where a big tree is down, towards the brook. Something spooked them, with the doves and they headed Southwest around 10:30a. I later saw 4 at the tree over the platform in the field but I can’t say this was a different set of birds from the initial flock of 12. I could not pick out the Hoary that was reported but most were hiding unless flying as a flock (which is how I got my exact count). Plenty of food here, so I feel this flock will stick around and hopefully grow. I spent the rest of the day with others looking to re-find the flock but we never did. Morning seems to be the time to look and these birds were very active.
