Observation details
***MEGA/ 1st record for Pennsylvania and the region; continuing bird found earlier today - thanks to Rob Fergus and Jason Horn for the epic discovery/ ID tag team; seen on the Springton Lake Middle School baseball fields at GPS 39.93935, -75.39840; recorded here as the slash category for now (with respect to Tundra versus Taiga); identification of this species complex is fraught/ challenging/ frustrating/ tantalizing/ mysterious/ exasperating. This individual was larger than the Canada Geese it was associating with, and it seems to have a mid-sized bill for a Bean Goose EDIT - 2022 - changed this one to Tundra Bean-Goose, though ID of this complex is still vexxed.
