Observation details
Continuing. Cormorant like bird with longer tail, very long snake-like neck and long thin yellow bill. Was sleeping when I arrived and shortly after flew about 50 feet down the river and caught a large sunfish. Did see it swim briefly and only had neck and head out of the water, with body completely submerged. Also was able to hear it call twice. Very raspy. Seems to be doing well through the cold and snow. Truly amazing bird to see for the first time here!
