Observation details
First seen in distance at barrier beach behind ballfield, with Herring Gulls. Ivory Gull IDed by small size, almost all-white plumage. Found again at George Peters Road, with immature Great Black-backed Gull feeding on a fish carcass on road. Ivory Gull was skittering around on the icy road, catching fish scales and other small bits that blew off the fish as GBBG was feeding. Watched the IVGU rest on snowy field at about 25 ft. distance, then march up road toward fish again. First winter gull with yellow-tipped bill, black eyes, black legs, limited black speckling on wings and face, black spots on primaries and black tail band. See photos attached, digital photographs of original prints.
