Observation details

Found by Brad Carlson. One adult shorebird in winter plumage. Rare for the region and first I've seen in the county. Midway down the east jetty, feeding on moss and algae on rocks. Stocky medium sized shorebird, dark above with white streaked breast, orange legs and orange base of bill. Purplish feathering showed when sunlight reflected off back and coverts.
