Observation details
present for one week now, found 27 Nov by Diana Onacki. Following the same routine of being very tame (coming within inches of my foot today) while feeding in the large boulders along the edge of the Perkins Cove parking lot, staying between the restaurant and the start of Marginal Way. Habits very similar to my observations last Saturday, though there were a number of times it "yawned" (possibly a stress indicator? - similar to you see window-strike birds do...) The other change was how vocal it was! In 8+ hours on Saturday, I only heard it clearly vocalize once, a short call note while foraging. Today it gave call-bursts at least six times while I was there, typically starting from one of its prominent perches on the rocks, and often continuing to call as it would forage around the rocks.
